About Me

My grandmother and I in 1975...

Artist, Mother, Wife, Dreamer, Explorer... I have loved photography since I was given a 110 camera at the age of 7, to capture memories on a family trip. I studied ballet, creative writing, and art in high school. I was taught by a science teacher how to use the darkroom. My Inspiration? Everything! Sometimes, I wish I wasn't so easily inspired, because I feel I will never have enough time to be able to create everything I would like to. To name a few I am inspired by nature (I live in a Banff, a World Heritage site in the Rockie Mountains), by animals in the wild, by civilization and how it invades nature, by abandoned buildings, by cemeteries, by patterns and textures both organic and inorganic, by all things vintage and historic, by my children and my relationships with others, by memory, by the creative expressions of others, by travel. On a smaller scale a beat up doll, a pile of leaves, a crack in an old wall, a sign, a certain color, anything can inspire me...
